Jenna Armstrong grew up in Louisville, Ky and swam for Lakeside Swim Club and DuPont Manual High school where she competed at the national level and held multiple state titles in the 100 Backstroke. She went on to swim for the University of Alabama where she earned Bachelors degrees in Psychology and Human Development. Jenna started coaching for her club team and a summer swim team when she was in high school and continued coaching kids through the University of Alabama swim camps during college. Currently, Jenna is a doctoral candidate in the School Psychology program at North Carolina State University where she focuses on evaluating parenting programs for families without stable homes. This is her 4th summer coaching the sharks and she is excited to continue to share her passion for swimming with the MARC Sharks!
Daniel Armstrong grew up in Madison, Alabama where he swam for Madison Swim Association and Bob Jones High School where he graduated in 2007. He went on to swim for the University of Alabama from 2007-2011 where he was a 3 year scorer at the Southeastern Conference Championships, team captain and an all-time top 10 performer for the Crimson Tide in the 100 and 200 breaststroke. Daniel has coached summer clinics for The University of Alabama and since moving to Raleigh has coached Triangle Aquatic Club as well as Cary Academy’s varsity team. Daniel is currently a doctoral candidate at North Carolina State University in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering with a focus in polymer physics and soft robotics.
Anthony Hunter has been swimming with the MARC Sharks since he was six. He is a graduating senior at Cardinal Gibbons High School. Anthony has been on the Gibbons Swim team for the last four years. When not swimming Anthony enjoys being with family and friends. He enjoys being a part of leading this great team and is looking forward to another great summer.
Madeleine Pfaltzgraff is a rising Junior at Cary High School. She swam year round for 8 years and is beginning her tenth year with the MARC Sharks this summer. Madeleine was a junior coach for the Sharks the past 2 years and can’t wait to lead the team as an assistant coach this year. Outside of swimming she enjoys playing her trombone in the CHS Marching Band.
Robert Bennett, a rising junior at Athens Drive High School, has been swimming with the MARC Sharks since he was five years old. For the last two years, Robert has been swimming with the Athens Drive varsity swim team. Aside from swimming, Robert enjoys participating in CASL soccer and recreational basketball. Robert looks forward to working with the team to help make this summer as successful and enjoyable as possible.
